Introduction

Digital Privacy News is a public service of the Magnusson Institute aiming to cover all matters of digital privacy. Staying true to the mission, we are also committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to this web site, to the best of our ability. We do not sell or give member or website information to anyone under any circumstances except as specifically compelled by law. We do not gather any visitor statistics or logs. We will not run any ads or trackers.

Mailing Lists

If you choose to subscribe to our mailing list, our free electronic newsletter will collect your email address. It will not be shared with a third-party and will only be used for its stated purpose.

To be removed from the mailing list please email mailing-list@magnusson.institute with “unsubscribe” in the subject line from the email you would like removed from the mailing list.

Reader Surveys and Market Research

We may collect personal information from you through voluntary surveys or feedback programs. We will ask for your consent to the processing of information at the point of collection. We will only use your information for the purpose of the survey and we will discard any raw data within a year.

Website Retained Information

Digital Privacy News is designed to collect as little information about you as possible, to the best of our ability. We do not track your location or use cookies to the extent we have control over it. The content delivery network servers may have temporary records, and services like WordPress may keep other information outside of our control, but we will continuously strive towards reducing any such information to zero.

Comments

Comments are individually approved and collect minimal voluntary information. If we inadvertently collect more personal information than intended, we endeavor to delete the extraneous information.

This website contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.

Disclosure of your information

We may disclose personally identifiable information about you to third parties when it is required by law, such as a subpoena or other judicial or administrative order.

If we are required by law to disclose the information that you have submitted, we will attempt to provide you with prior notice that a request for your information has been made in order to give you an opportunity to object to the disclosure, unless we are prohibited or it would be futile. We want to reiterate that across the board we strive to simply not gather or retain any information about Digital Privacy News visitors at all.
